How to  & Why Consign



HOW TO CONSIGN

Select in season clothes. Make sure everything is freshly cleaned. The better it looks, the more you’ll make.


Select clothes that are in style (purchased within the last three years). Better quality, designer or popular labels sell best. Sizes 0- 24. Check the Preferred Labels page for examples of the labels we prefer.


Please check for:

* Working zippers and fasteners
* No missing buttons
* No holes, tears, matting, fading, stains and odors
* No obvious signs of wear on collars, cuffs, hemlines
* Clean with no wrinkles
* Preferably no missing tags
* Current season and current style
* Better quality, designer or high-end labels
To be accepted, clothes must meet all of the above criteria. We consider what our customers want to buy when evaluating the items you bring in.

If it is your first time to consign with us you can print out and fill out the consignment agreement to save yourself time at the store.


Bring clothing in on hangers or neatly folded. We prefer clothing on plastic hangers. This protects your items in handling, makes inspection and processing at the store easier and as a result faster for you.


We will look over the items while you look around the store and let you know as quickly as possible which items we feel we can sell for you. Please understand that our customers’ preferences must guide our selections.


Sydney’s sets the price based on quality, brand, supply and demand. If you have a specific price or a minimum price in mind for an item, please tell us when you leave the item with us. If we feel we cannot meet your expectations we will not accept your item.


You are done at that point. We will price, tag, security tab, display, market and process all sales for you. You will receive 50% of the selling price when the item sells.


We will display your items for 45 days.  As your items sell, we will notify you by email to update you on your account balance so you will never have to wonder how much credit you have in the store.


You may collect your balance by check at your convenience with a limit of one payment per week. Alternatively you may apply your credit to any purchases whenever you like.


At the end of the consignment period we will notify you by email to remind you that any unsold items are ready for pick-up. At that point we will have your items gathered and ready for pick-up. Items not picked up within 7 days of notification will be considered abandoned and will become the property of Sydney’s Consignment Boutique.


Too busy? Too Tired? Don't have time to load your clothing up and drive to Sydney's store?  Good news!  Sydney will come to YOU!  Call Sydney 334-728-5906, set up a time that is convenient for you, have your clothing near the front door (inside). Sydney will come to YOUR house, load YOUR clothing, and take them back to the store.  What is the catch?  Sydney will charge you a $10.00 service charge from your balance when your items start selling!  This is a limited time offer, this offer is good for Auburn, Opelika areas only.  You must have 10 garments or more.  That is it, simple!  Call Sydney today with your modern day clothing, purses, shoes to consign, start making cash!
